Project MUGGLE 2017
This year the Hogwart's staff wanted to make a difference in the local community by choosing an individual from somewhere in the valley who needed significant financial support. The staff originally decided to raise money for Lindsey, a 15 year old girl from West Jordan who was recently diagnosed with a sudden and serious medical condition. The money would have gone to help her fight this condition, however, we have since learned that she has passed away. Our heartfelt prayers go out to this family for their loss. The funds will now help provide financial support for the family.
Two weeks ago, Lindsey woke up with similar symptoms to the flu. When her condition worsened Lindsey's parents took her to Instacare. She went into septic shock, with critical organ complications. She was admitted to the ICU where she was on a heart and lung machine fighting for her life. After two weeks, the family was informed that she had suffered extensive brain damage and made the difficult decision to take her off life support. The family is now dealing with unexpected medical bills due to her prolonged stay in the ICU and funeral expenses.
Lindsey's family is from West Jordan. They have five children and are active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They are involved in their local community and are loved by many. They have continued to have a positive outlook on life, as they deal with Lindsey's sudden medical condition and passing, the passing of Lindsey's sister's newborn baby and the passing of Lindsey's grandmother all within the last month.
This year the Hogwarts Staff would like to financially help out this incredibly deserving family. We hope you will also find this to be worthy cause for your yearly tuition.
