Project MUGGLE 2016
This year Headmaster and Headmistress Menlove had the opportunity to travel to Peru. During their three week adventure they had the opportunity to stay with Romer and Ana and get to know their incredible family and story.
Romer and Ana are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in a small hiking town called Huaraz. They run a bed and breakfast in the town's center to help raise money for their son Samin.
Samin is four years old and has been diagnosed with a rare medical syndrome called Kabuki Syndrome. This multi-system syndrome can cause organ complications. Samin requires medical testing and surgery to ensure a good quality of life. To obtain this much needed medical attention, Romer and Ana will need to fly to the United States or Europe and pay for the testing and surgeries out of pocket.
During their stay Headmaster and Headmistress Menlove fell in love with this little boy and his parents. His parents save everything they make in hopes to raise enough money to improve their son's life. Romer and Ana charge about 10-20 USD to spend a night in their bed and breakfast. At this rate it will take many years for them to gather the required funds.
This year the Hogwarts Staff would like to financially help out this incredibly deserving family. We hope you will also find this to be worthy cause for your yearly tuition.
